Concerts for conservation

Organised by Johann in partnership with National Botanical Gardens.
Our aim is to encourage an integrated culture for conservation amongst residents and visitors to the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve through musical entertainment at the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens.

'Concerts for conservation' features light, accessible, fresh and provocative background music performed by small ensembles of musicians performing at the outdoor amphitheater in the beautiful setting of the magnificent indigenous gardens.
(View from the stage below).
Bring your picnic basket and blankets, and enjoy the music in the heart of the Fynbos, a biodiversity hotspot, a treasure to be celebrated and protected by visitors to and residents of the area.

Despite the lack of "famous name-artists" and sponshorships attendance have climbed from 2-300 for the first series, to over 600 people at the last concert in January 2005. As this growth makes sponshorship more viable we aim to continue to provide a performing platform to artists not getting the chance to be featured on the regular concert circuit filled by well-known or high profile and well promoted acts.
